Mission: The mission of GEF is to improve the lives of orphans and vulnerable children around the world through education.
Our programs are based on the following principles:
- We listen to local needs on the ground and develop individualized strategies, rather than dictate a one-size fits all approach.
- We identify and form partnerships with experienced and trusted community leaders, who are at the core of our success. We work with these partners to create sustainable, local solutions.
- To maximize our impact and provide an integrated response we work with a vast network of NGOs, publishing companies, book distributors, multi-nationals and universities.
- GEF monitors existing projects on an ongoing basis. Evaluation activities are a key part of the GEF project cycle and are evaluated using both qualitative and quantitative measures with a focus on outcomes.
