Throughout the year 2002, the Global Education Fund worked with the Prince of Peace Home for Girls in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
This facility is made up of girls who are orphaned, abandoned, abused or have other problems making it impossible to live with their families. On the property is an elementary school and the beginnings of a library that is now filled with books donated by the Global Education Fund.
In 2002, the Global Education Fund formed a mutually beneficial relationship with Airline Ambassadors, a nonprofit organization that sends supplies to developing countries. In May 2002, Airline Ambassadors shipped hundreds of Spanish books donated by the Global Education Fund to orphanages in Guatemala and Panama.
