Dr. Kathy Bartlett, Executive Director
Global Education Fund’s Executive Director, Kathy Bartlett, brings more than 25 years of experience in Education and Early Childhood programming from across Central America, Africa, South and Central Asia and the Middle East. She joined GEF as its Director of Programs initially and was promoted to ED in 2013. Kathy was Co-Director of Education at the Aga Khan Foundation for the last 20 years prior to joining GEF. Kathy has also worked as co-Director of and then served on the Executive Board for the Consultative Group on Early Childhood Care and Development (CGECCD), an international consortium of donor agencies, NGOs and regional networks. She is active in the International Education Funders Group and has authored and co-authored a range of articles and reports related to education and ECD. Kathy has an M.A. in Early Childhood Education (1990) and a PhD in Social Foundations and International Education (1992) from the University of Iowa.
Michelle Schroder, Communications and Operations Manager
Michelle joined Global Education Fund with over 10 years of experience working and volunteering in the nonprofit and education sectors. Most recently, Michelle taught Spanish to middle school and elementary school students. She is passionate about providing educational opportunities to children around the world. She has a B.A. in International Studies and Spanish from Ohio University and a Master of Nonprofit Management from Regis University.
Hanna Vadeboncoeur, Development Manager
Hanna moved to Boulder, CO from Madison, WI in August of 2015 and began working for Global Education Fund as the Development Manager. Hanna received her B.A. in Community and Nonprofit Leadership and Global Health from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2014. While in school, she received funding from the Wisconsin Idea Undergraduate Research Fellowship for a program called Write to Learn, a creative writing and nutrition based after-school program, which she designed and delivered for children in Shashemene, Ethiopia. Her experiences in Ethiopia fueled her desire to provide educational opportunities to children around the world, and is excited to be a part of an energetic and impact driven organization, like Global Education Fund.
