In 2002, the Global Education Fund formed a mutually beneficial relationship with Airline Ambassadors, a nonprofit organization that sends supplies to developing countries. Airline Ambassadors shipped hundreds of Spanish books donated by the Global Education Fund to the Casa Hogar Piedad orphanage in Panama. Casa Hogar Piedad has about thirty children of which sixty percent have been sexually abused, twenty percent physically abused and the rest abandoned. In May 2002, a team of volunteers from Airline Ambassadors helped Casa Hogar Piedad by painting, installing electrical light fixtures, covering windows with screens and delivering a shipment of Spanish children's books donated by the Global Education Fund. The Global Education Fund spends thousands of dollars each year on shipping costs. The relationship with Airline Ambassadors is an extremely beneficial one which helps us cut those costs.
