Founded in 1997 by anthropologist Eliza Woloson, Global Education Fund listens to the educational needs of the orphanage community first and foremost. As a result, in addition to filling libraries in orphanages with books, Global Education Fund has sent interns to communities with high illiteracy rates, implemented formalized storytelling and reading groups and physically built libraries.
