Students at Asociación de Desarollo Integral: Mujeres Trabajan Unidas (ADIMTU) and Miguel Angel Asturias Academy now have a new favorite book, El Mago Que Salvó al Mundo (The Wizard Who Saved the World). Several hundred Spanish language versions of this book were donated to GEF by Boulder author, Dr. Jeff Bennett. We shared them with our partners and other nonprofits working in Guatemala. Global Education Fund’s initiative with our grantee partner, Project Vision, in Bangalore, India, to pilot the online platform placeTALKS is taking shape. This platform, being developed with support from MIT Media Labs, allows students to communicate with other students across the globe, with a focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Environment, Math and the Arts) initiatives. Global Education Fund is proud to support the Drishya Learning Centers, located in several urban slum communities in Bangalore, India, through our partner, Project Vision. Students at Drishya participate in a vibrant learning environment that provides them academic education as well as livelihoods training. They are taught basic reading, writing and math, and are encouraged to think creatively and act independently.
